Funny Pics?

I liked this picture that one of my friends forwarded to me. There are other pictures that depict things that you wish you put on a test that you never did. Another one I find funny is...

Have a good day.

There isn't global warming?

So this morning I was skimming the news really quick when I saw this article on CNN. Now please tell me if I am wrong, but I thought that Europe didn't get Hurricanes. Is this true? Boy I hope that I'm right and this hurricane is some freak accident caused by warmer oceans due to higher global temperatures.

I thought this was funny

Here are some of the actual conversations between IT clients and technical staffs.

Technologically Challenged

Customer: I'm trying to connect to the Internet with your CD, but it just doesn't work. What am I doing wrong?
Tech support: OK, you've got the CD in the CD drive, right?
Customer: Yeah....
Tech support: And what sort of computer are you using?
Customer: Computer? Oh no, I haven't got a computer. It's in the CD player and all I get is weird noises. Listen.....
Tech support: Aaaarrrrgggghhhh!!!

===============
Tech support: What kind of computer do you have?
Female customer: A white one...

===============
Customer: Hi, this is Celine. I can't get my diskette out.
Tech support: Have you tried pushing the button?
Customer: Yes, sure, it's really stuck.
Tech support: That doesn't sound good; I'll make a note.
Customer: No .. wait a minute... I hadn't inserted it yet... it's still on my desk... sorry....

===============
Tech support: Click on the 'my computer' icon on to the left of the screen.
Customer: Your left or my left?

===============
Tech support: Good day. How may I help you?
Male customer: Hello... I can't print.
Tech support: Would you click on start for me and...
Customer: Listen pal; don't start getting technical on me! I'm not Bill Gates, damn it!

===============
Customer: Hi, good afternoon, this is Martha, I can't print. Every time I try, it says 'Can't find printer'. I've even lifted the printer and placed it in front of the monitor, but the computer still says he can't find it...
===============

Customer: I have problems printing in red...
Tech support: Do you have a color printer?
Customer: Aaaah....................thank you.

===============
Tech support: What's on your monitor now, ma'am?
Customer: A teddy bear my boyfriend bought for me in the supermarket.

===============
Customer: My keyboard is not working anymore.
Tech support: Are you sure it's plugged into the computer?
Customer: No. I can't get behind the computer.
Tech support: Pick up your keyboard and walk 10 paces back.
Customer: OK
Tech support: Did the keyboard come with you?
Customer: Yes
Tech support: That means the keyboard is not plugged in. Is there another keyboard?
Customer: Yes, there's another one here. Ah...that one does work!

================
Tech support: Your password is the small letter a, as in apple, a capital letter V as in Victor, the number 7.
Customer: Is that 7 in capital letters?

===============
Customer: I can't get on the internet.
Tech support: Are you sure you used the right password?
Customer: Yes, I'm sure. I saw my colleague do it.
Tech support: Can you tell me what the password was?
Customer: Five stars.

===============
Tech support: What antivirus program do you use?
Customer: Netscape.
Tech support: That's not an antivirus program.
Customer: Oh, sorry...Internet Explorer.

===============
Customer: I have a huge problem. A friend has placed a screensaver on my computer, but every time I move the mouse, it disappears.

===============
Tech support: How may I help you?
Customer: I'm writing my first e-mail.
Tech support: OK, and what seems to be the problem?
Customer: Well, I have the letter 'a' in the address, but how do I get the circle around it?

===============
A woman customer called the Canon help desk with a problem with her printer.
Tech support: Are you running it under windows?
Customer: "No, my desk is next to the door, but that is a good point. The man sitting in the cubicle next to me is under a window, and his printer is working fine."

==============
And last but not least:

Tech support: "Okay Jim, let's press the control and escape keys at the same time. That brings up a task list in the middle of the screen. Now type the letter "P" to bring up the Program Manager."
Customer: I don't have a P.
Tech support: On your keyboard, Jim.
Customer: What do you mean?
Tech support: "P".....on your keyboard, Jim.
Customer: I'M NOT GOING TO DO THAT!!

That is all-

Smiley is funny

So according to Smiley's blog (see right), she apparently cannot date rape herself. This is not true. We have evidence to show that she did.

Thank you,

Pre-Finals Posting

So the semester is almost completely over, and I've managed to make it through alright. I should get around a 3.0 this semester, but that's ok by me since I have had one hell of a time these past two weeks keeping my sanity with everything being due, last minute exams, and concerts. I won't complain if I get better than a 3.0 for the semester, and now that I think about it, that may be possible. It really depends on how I do on my finals.

It's also official. Nate is no longer an undergraduate and has walked during commencement and everything! I'm very happy for him since he has worked his butt off to get here (I know, I live with him remember). The cool thing is that he won't be leaving forever since he's doing grad school here. I'll be able to see him regularly for one more semester before I leave. Yay! His commencement went very well in my opinion . It was a little over 1.5 hrs, but they said everything that should be said at a commencement, and nothing more. They in no way try to drag this ceremony out longer than it should be.

Nate's recital was today also. I would say that it went very well and everyone sounded great. Elaine has done a magnificant job playing first in Carmen's sted, even if some people who didn't know her though she wasn't going to do well. Boo to them. Nate managed to get a video of the concert that someone recorded that turned out alright. The video quality gets poor near the end, but you can still hear everything loud and clear. In my opinion that is a good thing. There were the usual minor intonation issues, but who doesn't have those from time to time. My only other real "problem" with our performance was actually something i didn't realize we were doing until after the performance. We had some good dynamic contrast in some places, but not all. The only way to have been able to see that would have been to record us and listen to it. We didn't have the time to do that though. All in all, I'd say that it was a 7-8 out of 10 performance, and I was beaming after it was done (I've only wanted to play this quartet for the last 5 years). High fives to the entire quartet!

I have a new desktop too....I like it a lot. :D:D:D

Finals schedule - Monday 3-5, Tuesday 10-12, Wednesday 2-4, and Thursday from 10-12. I should be back sometime on Thursday evening, probably 5-6 pm. But it's time for bed, so I bid you all sweet dreams.

Good Night and Good Luck,

This was cool....

Go here for something really awesome

It's almost thanksgiving

So everyone...I would like to take this time to applaude Kerry (aka Smiley) for forgetting to pay her internet bill. I want to do this because if I, or any of you, had done this she would not let you forget it. Well....that and try to make you feel dumb.

Also, I would like to say that I am here at work for no reason. The show tonight is not a ticketed event, and there was no "money bag" for me to use. So I have no cash in case someone wants to buy a ticket, and needs change. woo hoo!

Does this make me an overachiever? I currently have two papers that are due over the next two weeks. I finished them almost 2 weeks ago. I think that means I'm ahead of the rest of the class.

See everyone this weekend!

Thoughts

I don't really know what to put up here tonight because it has been so long since I've put anything up on my blog. If I tried to put everything up, I'd be here for a very long time, and I know that no one would read it. So I'll just talk about what' s been going just recently.

Mid semester has come and passed, as it always does. A few exams here and there. Some of the results are not as good as others. I've been to Winona a lot the past few weeks as well. I always find it interesting to see that no one has really changed back at home. Most of them are still doing the same thing. A few have changed, and a few want to change, but they can't seem to do so at this moment. Maybe it'll happen soon. I still do want to go back there becuase I miss it from time to time. Usually I'm too busy to think about it however, and I just have to live in the moment while hoping to try and live in the future. Did that make any sense? I don't know.

I did see man of the year friday evening. It was quite fun to see, and I would recommend seeing it to others if you are in the mood for a good laugh. I do really like the Lewis Black and Robin Williams conversations. Quite funny.

I am really looking forward to next semester, by the way. I'll only have 15 credits, much lower than what I've gotten used to for the last 4.5 years here. I'll have my senior design class which will make it feel like I have 21 credits for a while though. The list of classes reads like this though: Microbiology, Physical Geology, Piano Tech, Hist and Lit of Western Music III, Symphonietta, and Senior Design. I could have thrown in a 3 credit gen ed, but I decided that I wanted to take it over winterim (J-term for some of you wierd people) and make the last semester as easy as possible.

Lastly for tonight: There will be a "whos line is it anyway" the friday of thanksgiving weekend if anyone is interested and will be in winona.

Good Night and Good Luck,
-Otto
